Senach Soul

Name Origin: Irish Gaelic
Name Translation: Truthful
Nicknames: Semach, Samach, Sammich, Sandwich, Smeach, Peach, Smooch, Peaches
Age: 4 Years
Gender: Male
Rank: Loner

Senach Sick

Coat Description: He has no scars or unusual markings to speak of. His base fur color is a beige cream type of color which dominates his legs and underbelly. There are some patches of lighter browns and off-whites mixed into this base color. The lower half of his face is dominated by white rimmed in tan around his eyes an a distinctive beige muzzle stripe. The upper part of his face is a dark gray which grows darker as it reaches his ears and becomes a more charcoal type of color. The insides of his ears are a light silver, rimmed in a near-black. His coat is dark grays and charcoals intermixed with light browns.
Physical Build: Senach is a broad-shouldered male gray wolf. He is well-built, though of common build among males of his species. While he has a strong physical build, he is not overly muscular. Neither is Senach particularly swift, though he does well enough. He can be described as perfectly average in build and appearance.
Eye Color: His eyes are a light amber and almost always well-guarded. They can appear more golden, or brownish depending on the light. They often hold a bored expression, or one of mind disinterest.
Distinctive Markings: Senach has no particular markings or scars that distinguish him. He depends largely on his personality and words to make an impression on others, rather than what he looks like.

Senach Tell

Personality: Senach is, first and foremost, sarcastic by nature. He isn't the most friendly of types, though is by no means needlessly aggressive. He is highly suspicious and tends to remain rather aloof. He is an expert at deflecting questions, mostly through sarcasm. He likes to think of himself as an intellectual and loves nothing more than riddles and mind-games. He is easily amused and will never hesitate to point out another's errors or behaviors he sees as particularly foolish. Senach tends to be a bit of a loner, mostly because he very often becomes lost in thought. Senach has no aversion to others and no traumatic past to speak of. He has a high disdain for immaturity, as well as those he sees as "overly ruled by their emotion".
Strengths: Senach is a deep thinker and an intellectual. He tends to be wise, though this is largely hidden by heavy sarcasm.
Weaknesses: Senach is not particularly outgoing and can easily drive others away with his suspicion and more aloof nature. He also has a dislike for being given orders, though highly values respect.
Likes: Running water, dense forests, maturity, riddles
Dislikes:
Immaturity, stupidity, lack of respect, open plains

Senach Curse

History:Senach was born far East of the territory now occupied by the Monterosa pack. The territory he was born in was known colloquially as the Cairn Mountains. His pack made their home at the base of these mountains. Many a moment was spent with neck’s craning as they gazed at the towering peaks. The mountains were largely viewed as impassible. None knew what lay behind. They had seen the occasional loner venture into the mountains, but had never seen a single one return. Snow and ice topped the mountains year-round and harsh granite made up most of the ill-used pathway that threaded through the mountains. Senach spent much of his puphood gazing up at these peaks and simply imagining what mysteries could lay beyond them.

Senach was the sole member of his litter not to disperse. He was born when his mother was six years old, still young and healthy by many standards. He already had an older brother, Cayden, who like Senach had decided not to disperse when he had come of age to leave the pack. Senach and Cayden spent much time together in their youth. Cayden was only a yearling when Senach was born and had not matured enough to have lost his joy in the simple pleasures of puphood. Senach and Cayden were as close as brothers came, and occasionally quite the annoyance to their parents – Cairine and Farriss. Their pack, at the point of Senach’s birth, consisted only of Cairine’s sister and an unrelated male who mostly kept to himself. The small family was tight-knit.

Senach was reaching his second year when Cairine became pregnant for the last time. Cairine gave birth to a single living pup, though this came as no surprise to the pack considering both Cairine and Farriss – the dominants of their small pack – were getting quite on in years. It was a pleasant surprise that Senach’s mother, Cairine, had managed to conceive and give birth at all. Her last living pup was a small female who was quickly dubbed Deidre. Deidre became the life and joy of Senach, who had just reached his adulthood. He spent endless hours playing with her, watching over her, even taking her on small adventures into the woodlands that surrounded the mountains. Deidre grew up doted upon by Senach – much to the jealousy of Cayden who missed the days when he and Senach had been inseperable.

Senach, Cayden and Deidre grew – embodying the full beauty of youth. Simultaneously, however, Cairine and Farriss began to age. There began to be talk of Cairine and Farriss stepping down from their places as dominants, and relinquishing their power to one of their sons. Cairine was just turning one, and so not old enough to be considered ready for leadership. Cayden stepped forward, with no protest from Senach who was content to never feel the pressures of power. The small pack thrived under new leadership, though Cayden began to worry over the next generation and finding himself a female to rule beside. It was decided that Senach would venture out – and return in a single month to report on his findings.

Venture Senach did, though with much heartache and sad goodbyes – especially to Deidre who was crushed to see her beloved brother leave for even a few weeks. He crossed for the first time out of his pack territory and into the wilderness. It didn’t take him long to find a single lone female lingering on the edge of the territory. She confessed that she had been lingering for some time, dreaming about the mountains. She introduced herself as Caoimhe. Senach and Caoimhe spent time getting to know each other, Caoimhe falling deeply in love with Senach. Senach did not reciprocate these feelings, but felt guilty over her deep devotion. They mated, Senach in the hopes that he would grow to love Caoimhe. Caoimhe became pregnant, which she confessed to Senach. Senach brought Caoimhe to the pack as quickly as she could, urging her acceptance without explanation to his waiting family.

Almost immediately, Cayden began to display a strong affection for Caoimhe. Caoimhe, who had now realized Senach would never love her the way she desired, found solace in Cayden. She allowed herself to smile in his presence, and began to look at him in the same way she had once looked at Senach. The two mated, with neither Senach nor Caoimhe mentioning the past they had shared. Caoimhe’s pregnancy began to show, though Cayden (and the rest of the pack) were made to believe the litter was his. Senach watched from the sidelines, satisfied simply to have been reunited with his sister Deidre. She was the only one to whom Senach divulged his secret.

Caoimhe’s time came and her litter was born. Of the surviving pups, one was male and the other a small female. The female had Senach’s ashy coloring, though thankfully this went unnoticed. The little female was named Rhoswen, and Senach couldn’t help but love her. Deidre saw the way her brother was tortured, forced to watch his brother father the pups that were of his flesh and blood. Senach took any opportunity to be near Rhoswen, though could never tell her who he really was. He was nothing more than uncle. Senach finally decided he needed to leave. Every day was torture, being unable to love his daughter the way he should have.

He announced his departure, and his intentions to cross the “uncrossable” Cairn Mountains. He pulled Deidre aside before he finally departed, making a single request of his sister – that she tell Rhoswen who he was, when Rhoswen was old enough to understand. He only wished his daughter to know how much he had loved her, and why he had been forced to leave her. Little Rhoswen was not yet six months of age. Senach crossed the mountains, which were not so impossible afterall. And eventually came to a territory he would come to call his own, one that he would share with the pack that was now family.
